Unlike the first movie where it was filmed entirely in the United States, Marvel's The Avengers 2 is moving its production overseas to the UK, according to Screen Daily. The movie will begin production later this year and principal photography is scheduled to take place in early 2014 at the Pinewood-Shepperton UK studios.
While writer-director Joss Whedon is tight-lipped about the plot of The Avengers sequel, he did talked about what's in store for the movie in very general terms.
"The grand thing is that all of these people have met so you have that out of the way. Now you can spend your time just digging in and by digging in, I mean with a scalpel, to cause pain," Whedon said.
And it appears there's going to be "[d]eath, death, and death." Perhaps Whedon is hinting at the actual character called Death itself, an entity Thanos is enamoured with.
All the actors are expected to return to reprise their roles and the movie is set for a May 1, 2015 release.
The first movie made over $1.5 billion at the global box office and is the third highest grossing movie of all time, just behind Avatar and Titanic.
